Ingresar al centro de apoyoThe journal Scientific Perspective reaffirms its commitment to the long-term preservation, integrity, and accessibility of scientific knowledge through its membership in the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN). This system, developed by the Public Knowledge Project (PKP), aims to ensure the digital preservation of academic journals operating under the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform.
The PKP PN is based on the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) program, a decentralized and distributed preservation model that allows multiple copies of content to be maintained in a secure network of collaborating libraries. This approach ensures continuous and permanent access to published articles, even in the event of technical failures, editorial closures, or institutional disruptions, while also preserving the original and authentic version of each publication.
Likewise, PKP PN represents a strategic alternative for journals that are not part of other commercial or consortium digital preservation services, such as CLOCKSS or Portico, ensuring that scientific output remains available to the academic community and society at large in the long term. In other words, if the worst-case scenario were to occur, science would not be lost: it would be safeguarded. Digital life insurance, but without the fine print.
With this integration, Perspectiva Científica strengthens its editorial practices aligned with the principles of open science, open access, and academic responsibility, ensuring that the research results it disseminates remain accessible, citable, and reliable for present and future generations.
